Internet Archaeology

http://www.internetarchaeology.org/

This site is subtle and not apparently well explained. Yet, it's kind of a Disney ride to masterfully recreate the earlier days of the Internet.

For example, click on "Collections," then "Flash Collections," then click numbers at the top.

Two hurt when car, lawn mower collide in Bedford

Bedford Times-Mail
November 4, 2009

BEDFORD — Two people suffered injuries when a car hit a riding lawn mower that was traveling on Saddler Drive, according to a Bedford Police Department accident report.

Joe E. Godsey, 38, Mitchell, was on a Husqvarna riding mower and thought he had time to pull onto Saddler Drive and turn around, according to the report.

Wendy D. McDonald, 25, who lives on Saddler Drive, however, didn’t have time to stop or avoid a collision.

Her 2004 Pontiac Sunfire hit the mower and pushed it into a mailbox, police reported. The accident was at 4:49 p.m. Sunday near the Sycamore Drive intersection.

According to the report, McDonald complained of neck pain and Godsey complained of shoulder or upper arm pain.

Godsey, the report reads, was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Bedford’s Golden Corral rated No. 1

BEDFORD — Brett Werley, owner/manager of Bedford’s Golden Corral Restaurant, isn’t prone to settling for second.

A fierce and committed competitor, he sets the bar high for his co-workers while stocking his buffet with food that has kept customers coming back at record rates. Werley recently learned his restaurant was rated the No. 1 store of Golden Corral’s 357 franchised stores.

“We’re pretty happy about this,” he said while sipping a soft drink recently at the restaurant. “We’ve been working toward this for a long time.”

....We haven’t had a downtrend year here since 1998,” Werley said. “We’ve been enhancing and upgrading every year. We invest in our store.

“The idea is to continue to reinvent yourself,” he explained. “We do quarterly menus. Right now the theme is Oceans of Shrimp. At the end of December, we’ll go to something else.” .....
